Commerce Chenango heads to NYSEG Stadium for “Subway Series”
NORWICH – If attending a baseball game is on your list of fun summer activities, take note. On Friday, July 20, Commerce Chenango will host a bus trip from Norwich to Binghamton to see the Binghamton Rumble Ponies at NYSEG Stadium. Featuring Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow, the Rumble Ponies, who are a AA-level minor league affiliate of the New York Mets, will face the Trenton Thunder, a Yankees affiliate.
“Nothing says summer more than taking in a baseball game,” says Steve Craig, president and CEO of Commerce Chenango. “We are excited to be able to offer this trip to baseball fans and everyone who will enjoy a night watching the Rumble Ponies with some friends. It’s a great opportunity to support the team and have fun.”
In addition to the baseball game, the evening will include a fireworks show and a chance to win an Instant Upgrade to the major league “Subway Series” game between the Mets and Yankees in New York City on July 21. Everyone in attendance will be eligible for the drawing and the winner will receive a limo ride to New York along with four game tickets and a one night stay at the Holiday Inn NYC.
BingRP Sales Manager, Steve Popoloski, says, “We are pleased to welcome Commerce Chenango to our game on Friday, July 20 when we host the Trenton Thunder. We’ve had a great 2018 season so far, with the excitement of having former football star turned baseball pro Tim Tebow on the roster, as well top New York Mets prospects like Tomas Nido, Nabil Crismatt and Justin Dunn.
“I encourage members and their friends and families to come check out Rumbletown. Since the 2017 renovation, we’ve added the Southern Tier Brewing Party Deck and FreshySites Terrace, expanded our kids play area the UHS Sports Medicine Jumper Zone and upgraded concessions, which offer new and exciting food options like the Rumble Roast and Pony Soprano sandwiches. We look forward to seeing you at NYSEG Stadium!”
Open to the general public as well as Commerce Chenango members, the bus trip costs $40 per person and includes round-trip transportation, a section 1 box seat for the game, and a $10 gift certificate good for stadium food or souvenirs. Youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
The bus will depart East Park in Norwich at 5:30 p.m. for the 7:05 p.m. game, and return after the fireworks show is complete.
Seating for the bus trip is limited. Registration and payment are due by July 18. Interested persons should call Commerce Chenango at 607-334-1400.
Organized in 1959, Commerce Chenango is a not-for-profit, community based organization dedicated to enhancing the economic growth of Chenango County and the surrounding area. Visit www.chenangony.org for more information on Commerce Chenango services and programs.
